Our Past Projects
From exhibitions to video storytelling, each Untold Stories of Aging project brings art and community together to reimagine what aging can be. These past initiatives highlight how creativity, dialogue, and collaboration can bridge generations and challenge how we see aging.
Untold Stories of Aging in Art
Created by 2022 Scholars, this project seeked to illuminate the experiences of older adults through conversation, collaboration, art, and advocacy.
Through artistic expression, the project illustrates aspects of the aging experience that are not typically discussed in legible spaces and terms, so that we all might be better informed, prepared, and inspired for aging futures.
Untold Stories of Aging Practice
The number of aging-focused social workers, as well as other professionals in healthcare and social services, falls far below the projected need in light of the rapid aging of the U.S. population.
Created in 2023, this video project was intended to inspire professionals to consider contributing to aging-focused practice by creating a space for individuals who have experience working with older adults to share their experiences and reflections from the field.
Untold Stories of Aging 2024 art competition
In 2024 we hosted an art competition to continue to build our digital archive, foster dialogue and conversation around unstoried representations of aging and later life, and inspire both new and continuing artists of all ages to imagine aging futures in creative, diverse, and meaningful ways.
